The latest generation of Kindle is now available for pre-order. Order today and receive your new and improved Kindle on the 8th September. Here is the A-Z Guide of what you can expect from the new Kindle.

A is for Amazon. It goes without saying that without Amazon, there would be no Kindle. Kindle rates as Amazon.com's bestselling item for the second year running and has the most five star ratings of any Amazon product.

B is for Battery life. With just one charge, Kindle lasts for up to one entire month if the wireless connection is switched off. With wireless connection enabled, your Kindle has up to ten days life. It takes 4.5 hours to charge via the included UK adapter, but can also be charged via USB. Battery power is consumed more quickly in low coverage areas and with increased downloading.

C is for Contrast. Kindle has 50% better contrast than other ebook readers, which means crisper text and images. Kindle offers the reader the closest comparison to a paper book that can be found.

D is for Double the storage. Now, your new book collection can amount to 3,500 books, all in the palm of your hand.

E is for Email. Each Kindle has a unique and customisable email address, making it possible to send Word, PDF documents and images to your Kindle. There is a small fee (20p per MB) for this service.

F is for Font. There are now three improved fonts available for your reading pleasure. The font size can be adjusted easily, there are eight sizes to choose from. If you wish, every book in your library can be large print.

G is for Glare. Read on the beach, in the park or in your living room, there is no difference. Kindle reading is like paper book reading without the associated glare of other electronic screen devices.

H is for High Resolution screen. Kindle comprises of no less than 16 shades of grey to enhance the screen image and text clarity.

I is for Instant lookup Dictionary. An instant 250,000 word Oxford English Dictionary in the palm of your hands, built-in to the Kindle. Moving the cursor to an unknown word will display the definition at the bottom of the screen automatically.

J is for Just search and sample. If you prefer to sample the first few chapters of your next read, you can - for free. If you like what you read, then download and if not, move on to the next one. Each sample varies in length.

K is for Kindle User Guide (pre-installed). A comprehensive guide to Kindle's functionality is already installed on your Kindle in PDF format so there is no need to to carry around a set of instructions about how to use your new favourite gadget.

L is for Lightweight. The new Kindle weighs an amazing 247 grams which is less than one paperback alone.

S is for Sixty Seconds. That is all it takes to expand your library by another Kindle download. Literally click, download and get reading.

T is for Text-to Speech. If you are not in the mood for reading, Kindle can read to you! Most English language books, newspapers, magazines and blogs can be read aloud in a choice of male or female voices, at a pace which suits your preference. The pages automatically turn when using this function and you can flip between reading and Text-to-Speech whenever you wish.

U is for UK Kindle Store. The store provides the same Amazon.co.uk service you have become accustomed to, with great reviews, recommendations and, of course, the best prices. V is for Voice Guide. There is no need to read menu options, as the voice guide will read them aloud to you, making Kindle navigation all the more user friendly.

W is for Wireless. WiFi and 3G connections mean that Kindle books can be downloaded at any hotspots, anytime, in over 100 countries globally. There is no contract required and no monthly fee for the service.
